    Tallow has been used for centuries as a deeply nourishing skin balm, long before synthetic creams and fillers became the norm.

    Rich in vitamins A, D, E and K, tallow helps support healthy, resilient skin while avoiding the need for synthetic fillers, fragrances or preservatives.

    Tallow is naturally rich in skin-identical lipids, meaning it closely mirrors the structure of our own skin barrier.

    This allows it to absorb easily, moisturise deeply, and support the skin’s natural repair process, without relying on water, preservatives, or unnecessary additives.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Are your products safe for sensitive skin?

    Yes. Our grass-fed tallow balms are gentle, fragrance-free (or naturally scented), and formulated to soothe and protect even the most sensitive skin.

    How often should I use tallow balm?

    You can use it daily, as often as your skin needs hydration. Apply a small amount to clean skin and massage until absorbed, perfect for morning or night routines.

    Do you whip your tallow balms?

    We choose to leave our tallow balms unwhipped. While whipping can feel luxurious, it introduces oxygen, which may shorten shelf life and increase the risk of rancidity. It also adds volume without adding value - essentially, air. By keeping our balms pure and unwhipped, we extend shelf life and deliver more product, and more value, in every jar.

    Do your tallow balms smell?

    All of our products undergo multiple purification processes to ensure little to no odour remains after rendering. However, due to the natural nature of our ingredients and slight batch variations, a mild scent may still be present. This typically fades within 5–10 minutes after application.

    Are there any storage requirements?

    Our tallow balms can be safely stored in a cool, dark place and are best used within 12 months. Due to the natural properties of tallow, refrigeration is recommended during hot summer months to help prevent spoilage.

    Are your products environmentally friendly?

    All of our products are made with all natural ingredients and are environmentally friendly. Including our packaging.

    Do you accept returns?

    Due to the handmade nature of our products, we do not offer returns for change of mind, skin sensitivities, or adverse reactions but we guarantee quality and will replace any damaged items.

    Do you ship internationally?

    At the moment we do not ship internationally.

    Shipping policy

    At Bud & Tallow we're committed to ensuring your order reaches you safely and swiftly. Below you'll find all the details about our shipping options, processing times and returns.

    Processing Time

    All orders are processed within 1–3 business days (excluding weekends and public holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification once your order has shipped.

    Please note that during busy periods, holidays, or promotional events, processing times may take slightly longer.

    Shipping Rates and Estimates

    We currently ship within Australia using Australia Post.

    Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout based on your location and order weight.

    Estimated delivery times:

    • Standard Shipping: 2–7 business days
    • Express Shipping: 1–3 business days
    • Free standard shipping on orders over $100 AUD.

    Order Tracking

    Once your order has shipped, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your tracking number. Please allow up to 24 hours for tracking updates to appear.

    Delays and Lost Parcels

    We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services, weather conditions, or incorrect shipping details provided at checkout.

    Returns and Exchanges

    Due to the handmade, small-batch nature of our products, all sales are final.

    We do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, skin sensitivities, or adverse reactions.

    Exceptions:

    We will replace or refund items that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect.
